I. GENERAL REGULATIONS

1. ORGANIZERS, TIME AND VENUE

The 4th World University Equestrian Championship will be organized in Berne, Switzer­land from 26th - 30th July 2000 under the auspices of the International University Sports Federa­tion (FISU), in collaboration with the Association Internationale des Etudiants Cavaliers (AIEC), by the Swiss Universities Sports Federation (SUSF).

4. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

To participate in the World University Equestrian Championship 2000 countries invited by the OC shall meet the following requirements:

5. PROCEDURE FOR ENTRIES

Procedure

The countries invited to participate must follow the below mentioned procedure: Countries must insure that all their entries reach the Organizing Committee by the due time and in the form prescribed by the OC and the regulations of FISU.

They shall take particular care in completing accurately the section of the entry form concer­ning previous performances of individuals and teams to assist the officials in making the draws.

When entering, countries shall sign an undertaking that their competitors shall not withdraw from a championship once it has begun in contravention of the spirit of the General Principles of FISU Regulations.

Participation fee

Two months before the championship, the countries entering the event must confirm their entry with and advance payment of 25% of the total participation fees (US $ 60.- per person) entered by 26th May 2000.

The participation fee, which guarantees an entry, shall be directly collected by the OC. Should the competitor compete, his participation fee shall be credited to the costs of stay to be paid to the OC. In the event of a forfeit, this participation fee shall cover the costs undertaken by the OC.

Entry forms

Entry forms must be completed in capital letters (typed or hand-written) in one of the working languages of FISU (English or French) and be submitted according to the procedure prescribed by the OC and must be received under the following conditions:

Deadline for entry

  1. General entries (engagement of participation) at least six (6) months before the begin­ning of the championship, 26th January 2000.

  2. Quantitative entries (confirmation of participation) with the number of officials and partici­pants, and with the payment of the participation fee, at least two (2) months before the beginning of the championship, 26th May 2000.

  3. Nominative entries (conditions for participation) with the list of competitors and substi­tutes, the events in which they will participate and the necessary photographs, eighteen (18) days before the beginning of the championship, 8th July 2000.

Entry procedure

Individual dossier to submit on arrival

The individual dossier for each competitor to be presented to the CISCA must include:

The Head of Delegation or his deputy, in submitting the individual dossiers for his competitors shall produce a list certified by the appropriate national academic authority of his country, of the universities or similar institutes whose status as universities meet the requirements.

6. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

FISU Registration fee

FISU shall receive from each competing country the following entry fees:

  1. effective members of FISU: US $ 20.- (twenty) per competitor and official

  2. other associations: US $ 40.- (forty) per competitor and official

The participation entry fees will be collected by the CISCA before the issue of the competitors’ identity cards.

Travel cost

The countries shall be responsible for their own cost of travel to Berne, Switzerland and return.

Participation fee

The competing countries, upon arrival, shall pay their due of the US $ 60.- (sixty) for participa­tion per person per day.
